The Grow a Grav campaign invites men from across Wales and the World to grow a beard throughout the month of February in tribute to the late Ray Gravell.
All money raised from the campaign will go to the WRPA Benevolent Trust and the Ray Gravell and Friends Trust.
Ray Gravell, who sadly passed away in 2007 at the age of 56, was one of Wales’ greatest ambassadors and a true Welsh legend. His fame continued to grow after retiring from the game when he embarked on an acting and broadcasting career – making him one of the best known faces and voices in Wales. In tribute to his immense achievements both on and off the pitch, the Ray Gravell and Friends Trust was set up to ensure that his passion, energy and spirit continues through the work that it does, supporting charities that were close to his heart.
The WRPA Benevolent trust was set up in March 2010 by the members of the WRPA to provide support to current and former professional rugby players in times of serious illness, injury or hardship.
